Spam messages have caused more damage than hackers and viruses, because of how easy and cheap it is to send fraudulent or infected emails.

Typically, there are two types of Spam emails: Unsolicited Bulk Email and Malicious Email.

Unsolicited Bulk Emails is the practice of sending unwanted email messages, mostly with commercial content, in large quantities to an indiscriminate set of recipients. These types of SPAM messages are a nuisance and pain to sort through.

Malicious Spammers can send infected emails via “zombie networks”. Zombie Networks is a network of virus- or worm-infected computers in homes and offices around the globe. Once the zombie network is activated, the infected computers can send millions of spam emails in a matter of minutes. This can cause email servers being overloaded, networks becoming blacklisted from being able to send email, infecting other computers, etc. These types of threats have cost companies millions of dollars and can take several days or sometimes weeks to bring under control.

The best way to prevent from your computers from receiving these messages is by having a Spam & Virus Firewall. Most spam & virus firewalls should be able to scan your incoming emails and determine whether your message is either spam or contains a malicious script that can infect your computer.

CBM Technology.Net have been providing email security for over 5 years now and protects 1000s of users from these types of attacks.
